| So I just added a little bit of Merrick Turducken in the mix with the Core. It is only day three and we are only up to about 25% Turducken. So far, poop is looking a little better. She loves to eat it. We will see. |

| We switched Bella over to the Wellness Core Ocean from Canidae last month. We tried the Super 5 Mix, she loved it but had really bad eye boogies. With the Core, the eye boogies are gone, coat looks great, etc. Only one problem, her breath is AWFUL!!! I don't think it is her teeth because it smells exactly like the food. (Taking her to the vet just to rule out the teeth, definitely do not want to have teeth issues.) Anyone else having this problem or any advice on what you give for bad breath? We do brush her teeth, but it's not helping. |

maybe switch to regular core, not ocean? or add yogurt or probiotics to help her to digest it easier? |

Thanks! I was thinking about switching her over to the regular and see how she does on it. I hate to keep switching her food on her, but somethings gotta give... I don't think I can take it anymore. haha
She does get yogurt in the mornings. She's such a brat, if you forget to put it in there, she just stands there hovering over her bowl, looking at you like "ummm, hello? don't you think you forgot something?"
I think I read somewhere on here that raw apples helped...may give that a try as well.

it's not a true switch, since it is within the same line, i believe.. but i'd still mix it in gradually..

I really wish Canidae did not change their formula. Their ingredients are SO good, but my dogs did not do well on the new formula. I had to bring the bag back! Now I wonder if I didn't try it long enough. I only used the new formula for a few days, but the gas and mushy pooh was too much for me--back to the store it went. Luckily, I found another store that still has plenty of stock of the old formula--40 lb bags, so I bought a bunch of them and that's what we've been using. However, I did try California Natural and they seemed to like it. Most of the other brands are SO expensive compared to Canidae--and the bags are SO much SMALLER!!!
I did see on Canidae's website that they are coming out with a GRAIN FREE line! Wonder if that will be any good!

| We switched Daisy to Wellness Super5 Mix Chicken...she seems to be doing well on it although I'm not sure if the eye boogers are due to pollen around here. She loves it, seems to digest it well, so far so good. I can't really say she didn't do well on the Canidae, but with the formula changes and the price going up, I started looking at other brands and when I did the math, Wellness works out to be no more expensive than Canidae as I end up feeding a little less. |
