So.. My dog razor has separation anxiety i have posed a few Topics about him. He is currently on medication to control his anxiety.. It is helping! (a BIT) but not that much he has his good and bad days... as every dog does
But He cant be left out of the crate for any amount of time when I am not home he barks and eats everything...
So I found a training place close to my house. They garentee that they can help him... Its a 15 day program and it cost $450... He will stay there and they will run him through extencive treatment (starting him at square one) Making him learn its ok to be alone...
I was wondering if anyone has hurd of places like this?? If it will help I will jump on it...
I dont have alot of time on my hands I am a full time student and work also... I graduate in june so I will have ALOT more time for Razor .. But as of right now i dont have anytime to go to training classes and most of them are on the days I work.. So if this program will work I would spend the money on it in a heart beat I want my Razor to be happy not cooped up in a crate....
If u have any ideas please let me know THANKS

Hi. Places like this can work but the main thing w/ training of any kind is CONSISTENCY and also it's a good bonding time for you and your dog.
I am curious about this place though as our rescue is in need of a place that trains and boards! We are in NJ/PA/DE...
Good luck and be patient... SA and crate training needs to be done very slowly and w/ LOTS and LOTS of praise for good behavior! |

| I would definitely get some references from these people. A lady I work with has a Lab she sent to a place like that, where they took the dog for a few weeks, and she said he came back a lot better. But Ive heard horror stories as well. |

I would want to know specifically how they train before I left my dog with them.
I don't have much experience with SA, but most of the training shows indicate it is due to lack of exercise. Would it be more worthwhile to spend your money on a dog walker, or better yet taking more time off to walk him yourself? |

| See my other post. I survived separation anxiety and solving it in 15 days is like saying you can cure a person with anxiety in 15 days. |
