| its great to have found this site .here is our question majic is a very mellow male (really)and we have the opportunity to adopt a 10 month old female .does anyone have any suggestions as to introducing the two ?the 10 month old has a lot of energy and majic at 6.5 years has plenty but reserves it for the woods should i have any concerns ? |

Hello and Welcome to the forum.
I know I am probably nuts, but, I just introduce calmly on lead first, when I see no fighting, leash comes off and I keep a very close eye on things. I do try my best to be very relaxed when introducing my girls to any new dog. I swear, I think they feed off of me and my emotions. Just be calm and positive. All should be o.k. There is always "pecking" order in any pack, with dogs and horses alike. Majik may put the 10 month old in her place sometimes. As long as he is not hurting her or her hurting him, all should be fine.
Let us know. Some others on here will probably have better ways than I do it. This has always worked for me. No matter what kind of dog I had. |

thanks duchess . im sure all will go well we will be picking her up after work tonight (adoption ) my only concern was that majic has enjoyed his reign over the house as an only dog . but being the sweet guy he is im sure all will go well by the way he is adopted as well so right off the bat they will have something in common !

thought id send an update , they get along fine after an evening of having our new whirlwind nearly glued to majic (him doing bunny hops over her ) majic has finally asserted himself as the alpha . boy is he patient ! he put her in her place this morning . she showed him her belly and life went on. thanks duchess for your advice it worked well. we have named her opal . heres a pic of the two of them its apiic its not of the best quality though

Hi, I am glad all went weel and I thought it would. Majik has the sweetest eyes!!!  Sometimes they just have to show who is boss and one submits and all is WELL!!
