Hi,
I just thought I would finally introduce myself and the new addition to the family. My name is Claire and my partner (Bruce)and I have just brought a beautiful Weim puppy called Cooper, he is 10 weeks old. We live in Brisbane, Australia. I have been reading the forum for the last few weeks and it has been a wealth of information not to mention a relief to see that everything my puppy is doing is in fact quiet common and I'm not alone with my problems. We have had him now for nearly 3 weeks and he is our first weim and my fist dog since a GSP when i was 9. My partner had a cattle dog which passed earlier this year. I may be a bit bias but he is the cutest thing in the world!! and we love him so much I can't imagine life without him now.
I think Cooper is doing very well, he is now toilet trained and can just about make it through the night with out being taken( i take him out about 4am when he needs). Other than that he hates being alone and is constantly biting us (this is sending us insane) and chewing everything (he was literally chewing the paint off the walls the other day) but from what I can tell this is all common behavior (ok, maybe not the paint bit) and we are just trying to deal with it the best we can. If it wasn't for this website im not sure how we would be dealing with it all.
I look forward to talking to everyone and thank you all for the information and tips that you have posted - I think I may have had a mental breakdown if it wasn't for every ones great advice.
Cheers
Claire

Thanks Kathy,
I just sent you a pm but i forgot to tell you I'm in Brighton.
So are Jaeger and Cooper related at all? Surely their lines must cross somewhere.

Welcome and congrats! I like how his tail looks undocked. I can just see it knocking valuables off of tables as he gets bigger though. |

Welcome Claire! I'm on this forum for months now but still have to wait another 3 months for my new family addition. But I'm getting so exited! Where's your Weim from?
@jaegertheweim: Is Jäger the pup of Greta and Maverick? |

| Don't worry about the play-biting. I know it hurts like crazy. We started whining like a hurt animal when Mona would do it to us and she got the hint and/or grew out of it. |
