So last night I made zucchini bread and the batter bowl with all the utensils I used was on the counter. It was about 11:30pm when I finished and I didn't feel like emptying the dishwasher and all, so I figured I would do it this morning.
This morning I had to run over to my dad's house for about 10 minutes, when I returned, Nena met me at the door with her stuffed toy and I went right into the kitchen and started unloading the dishwasher when I heard a weird noise, like metal hitting a plastic pail...
I went out into the living room to find Gunther on his dog bed with the batter bowl between his front legs (like he was hugging it) and all of the utensils that were inside the bowl all over the floor like he took them out one by one!!!
I should have taken a picture, but I was mad!
I've been toying with the idea of a getting a scat mat, now I'm pretty sure I'm getting one because I don't know how else to stop the thief other than remember to put everything up high - I'm 5´2˝ and that gets to be a pain.
Any suggestions?

As a fellow vertically challenged woman... LOL I too am looking into a scatmat because Jack continues to counter surf as he pleases and I just can't think of any other way.
LOL Its to the point where If I have to run out, I leave my dirty dishes in the oven so he won't eat them! |

I don't have any suggestions, but I'll be waiting to hear some. Last night after we finished dinner we left the room for a few minutes and returned to find Haus on top of the kitchen table all four feet. He was helping himself to a hearty helping of mac and cheese.

Jack knows his paws aren't allowed on the table... so what does he do? LMAO He sits on my chairs (I swear they're going to break) and then helps himself to whatever my kids left on the kitchen table.
I guess at least he has manners??? |

Mac and cheese sounds great. Fall has arrived in a big way. It is rainy, dreary and yuck. Haus is a dog after my own heart, Mmmmmmm cheese. |

Scat mats are these mats that you lay down and they plug in and when the dog touches them they get a shock...

Zucchini bread turned out really yummy, I love it with butter, probably a bit fattening though, Gunther seemed to enjoy the batter!
I found a lone teaspoon measure in his crate, guess he was saving that! It just amazes me that there was no trail, he must have picked up the entire bowl and brought it to the living room, now if I could just train him to put away my laundry! |

| Mischa is such a scavenger. Our friend is a dog trainer and she suggested hitting a pot with a wooden spoon. I hate to scare her like that, but it seems to be working and she is thinking twice before she gets up on the counters. Now we just need to find something for when I am not around. I have seen alarms that sense vibration and scare them away. |
