|
|
I got in touch with the Guernsey County Warden's Dept. about Lucy (Lucious) a 2 1/2 yr old female weim.
They don't know very much about her other than she is an owner surrender and intact. I have sent a request for additional information about her.
My problem is, I don't know how to get her into rescue. She is located at the Guernsey County Dog Pound (where Colonel Buddy Joe was) @ 62824 Bennett Ave. Cambridge, OH 43725.
If anyone can help with transport or foster, please let me know. I will need you to fill out our volunteer application.
I will post again when I hear back from the shelter.

| I should be able to help transport. Fostering would be a little much right now. Maybe for a day or two though. Let me know if i can help in any way Lynn. |

Won't a rescue south of OH take her (Louisville?)? I wonder if MWR knows about her - they have a few volunteers in the Toledo/Columbus areas.
Let me know - maybe I could drive a leg. |

Shawn,
I really want to get a little more info on her before I do anything or ask anyone to pick her up as the person who answered the phone at the shelter really knew nothing about her. The whole ordeal with Link was a learning experience for me. It makes me all the more grateful for what you did for Gretchen.
I want to make sure that she has no issues that we need to be aware of before I ask a volunteer to pick her up.
Thank God it was me that took Link out of the shelter.....I would rather be the one dealing with a dog with issues than a volunteer.
I will let you know though. |

Well, I called the shelter and they said no one else called about her
So, once I get some additional info about her I will try to get someone to get her out of there. Boy, I can't wait to retire....I'd be halfway there right now..... |

| I have family in the area who is willing to go get her and meet someone for further transport. Please let me know if you need their assistance. The only problem is they probably could not do it until the weekend. |

I never got a response from the shelter to my e-mail...arghhh. If I don't hear from them I will try to call them tomorrow..it is almost impossible for me to call during the work day.
Kristie, if someone could just go check her out for me that would give me something. The guy that answered the phone when I called just started that day. I wanted to talk to someone who may have just a little insight into her personality. |

Any news? God, that irks me when no one returns phone calls or emails - kind of like with Odis |

No...*darn* it, I just e-mailed them again. I know they have a lot of dogs there and they are very busy, but I am trying to info so I can get her out of the shelter.
If I had the time, I would just go pick her up myself...*darn* job gets in the way of saving dogs.
I am going to try to call again around lunch time and see if I can get anyone on the phone. They don't seem very helpful.
I will keep you posted. |

They are not responding to me at all. Would it be possible for you to go visit her and maybe get some info?? Or just call them for me. I can't call from my office phone because our corporate office picks apart the phone bill. My office is in the basement so I don't get a cell phone signal down here so I have to leave to call on my cell
I called them the other day when I went to let the dogs out and of course the guy that answered didn't know anything about her. |

| I called them and talked to a woman named Kay. She was very nice and said that Lucy was tied to a chain outside and that her dog house was an upside down truck bed! She was purchased at a pet store and has all of her papers, but is a nut. She also said that they try and get purebred dogs into rescues, but havent had any luck with her. They are open from 9 to 3 tomorrow and of course those are the hours I work, but I am going to see if I can get the day off to go and look at her! |

Jillynn,
I don't want to inconvenience you like that. You could just give them my contact information and tell them we want to get her into our rescue. But I need them to contact me.
If you do go, (I know I'd rather go visit a dog than go to work, too) Please give them my contact information. Tell them that apparantly Tri State's area is moving into Ohio little by little..lol
