Doggy safe craft paint???

Postby onegrayhoudini » Mon Nov 16, 2009 4:25 pm

I want to make Ronix his own stocking, and I want to personalize it/decorate it with maybe a paw print of his or two. Does anyone know of any approved paint to do this little craft? Or if I washed his paw off right away will any craft paint do? I just don't want to irritate his paws (it would definitely be a front paw since his back left is still cut :() or I suppose I could forego the whole paw print idea...I just thought it would be a cute way to make it a "doggy" sock.

I wouldn't worry too much about the paint, if you can rinse it off right away. We did an imprint of Lincoln's paw in concrete in the summer and we just had the hose ready to rinse him immediately and used soap as well. The skin on their pads is pretty thick and as long as he doesn't have any open cuts or wounds, i don't think it should be a problem.

Sounds like a cute project!!

Ok cool. I would have loved to get pawprints in the patio concrete on the house while it was wet! Oh well, we missed that idea! Hopefully I can find the right kind of stocking material so it will be easy ha ha. Thanks!! :) I'm getting in the Christmas spirit early this year, I think it's due to having an actual house, yay!

Good thinking! I ended up skipping that part-just thought it would be too messy, and his paws have been having a rough couple of months, so I definitely did NOT want anything to get in a cut. I just drew a pawprint on with glitter glue...although I accidentally made the big pad part of it look like a cat print ... oops  hahaha. Ohhh well!
