| Does anyone use choke chains successfully? I cannot seem to get it to ride high enough on her neck to be effective. I don't want to walk constantly with tension on her, but that seems to be the only way I can keep it positioned high? It is also tearing up the hair on her neck. My sister said you could get some type of huggy for it to protect her fur, but I haven't found anything? |

It's hard to get them to stay high on their neck. We use are nylon choke like they use in the show ring. Seems to stay a bit better. Also seems to get their attention better than a chain and looks much prettier!

i use a nylon choke with the chain just in the back part, so it is nylon collar around 90%.. no fur pulling..
honestly, though.. it seems to bother me more than him.. he walked just as well with a regular collar yesterday. the plus of using the choke is that he can't slip out of it in crowded areas..
i usually put both on him, attach the leash to the regular one, and see how it goes. |
