Ok, kind of a hard one to describe.
Riley had 3 bumps on her butt, below the base of her tail.
They appeared sometime over the past 4 months, one gave off puss, the others did not, they all went away. They were red, and protruded slightly.
Today I noticed she has about 3 dozen bumps - seem much the size of mosquito bites or just a bit bigger - no bigger than the size of a dime in diameter, and raised just enough to be visible from about 5 feet.
I rolled a few of them between my fingers - one gave off puss, one bled, the rest seem to be below the skin. They dont seem to be bothering her, and I cant think of anything unusual that has changed in her days other than her first trip to the dog park on saturday (and again today) - but I noticed the bumps on the way to the park, so they appeared sometime today.
Oh, and no real hairloss that I can tell... yet. Will post more if things changes. Oh, and she does have a wee bit of puppy acne on her face - maybe 3 bumps.
Any thoughts? |

Aw, poor Riley. I don't know what that could be. I was thinking an allergy to something but would it give off puss?
Lets bump this post up, maybe someone else has had this happen before. |

yeah, like i said, they are weird... probably an allergy or something like that... maybe a bacterial thing...
i squeezed the crap out of 4 of them last night, got them to give off some very thick puss, then i cleaned them up with peroxide.
hard to tell if there was any change this AM. will check her when i get home to see how they look.
she doesnt even seem to notice they are there, and it doesnt seem to hurt when i pick at them. |

Hey guys,
So i am thinking she has the same thing that Rocky has been going through, and his its allergy related and he is getting the bumps from the pesticides they have sprayed outside. I think the reason why she has pus coming out of some of these its because maybe she scratched them. Rocky will scratch his bumps and some of them bleed once in a while and they even for a scab. They look exactly how you explained them and he even had them in his face for a while. |

| I agree -- it sounds like what Jazz gets sometimes when her allergies flare up. |

im thinking allergies as well.
she does not seem to itch at them directly... but she is a semi-regular butt scooter, and she seems to have itchy skin in general.
i am going to start digging through everything we use in the house to see if i can find something that seems to jump out as a recent change, or that she may have had contact with recently. perhaps im missing something... or maybe its the change canidae has made in their food.
thanks for the help! |

When Goose was a puppy he had what you are describing - bumps on his back, some on his face. Our vet said it was a staph infection and gave him some antibiotics and recommended benzoyl peroxide shampoo. It cleared up in no time flat. Check out this webpage for more info:
