I found this ad on the local classifieds. She is beautiful. I sent him an e-mail encouraging him to contact the Heartland Weimaraner Rescue. With this as the contact information:
(816) 781-0828
heartlandweimrescu@kc.rr.com

Not sure if that was the right contact info or not. I love to try to help a grey or blue baby in need. I can help transport as well if need be!

She is located in Olmitz, KS. It is in the center of Kansas. The best I can tell you is to MapQuest or YahooMap it unless you are familiar with Kansas. It is near Great Bend, KS.

Yes. Heartland is the rescue that covers KS. When they are full, Mile High helps when they can.

Thank you for contacting a rescue...

Yup! That's where Elsa came from (KS) and I've transported 2-3 recently. Mile High is way full right now though--I think there are close to 12 waiting for a foster home.

I e-mailed the person the contact info, but they did not reply to me. I just hope that the dog found a good home!

It is great that you look at classified advertisements like you do. I would had never looked at the one that you posted because I am not used to using that certain one. It helps to post any Weim you see advertised that needs a forever home. She ended up getting a great home in Colby, Kansas. It makes me feel so good that she didn't have to go through the rescue since they have so many other Weims waiting for foster homes. It seems like since times are rough right now so many dogs, including Weims, are having to be re-homed since their owners are having to move to smaller housing or they don't have the money to feed an extra mouth. I did see a Weim owner in Austin that needed a temporary foster home for her Weim on CraigsList until she was able to move into her new home and get settled. It makes me feel good that people will ask for the help if they need it. I told her that I would be willing to keep the Weim here even though I am far away. I haven't heard back from her yet though.

That is so cool. Colby is only about 30 minutes away from me. I would take another weim in a heartbeat, but I have a not so nice landlord who only allows one animal. Some day when I'm not scared of the bad market and I decide to buy a house I can become the crazy dog lady!
