Sad day for Australian Longhairs..
Australian Grand Champion Bromhund Unique Trudi "Trudi" passed away early this morning after losing her fight to a Paralysis tick.
Trudi will be missed by everyone dearly.. she was just so stunning.

Paralysis tick is a just one of the bloody things that our doggies in Aus have to worry about when they are living on coastal areas - especially in Spring when it is warm and humid.
It's a little aphid looking sort of parasite that attaches to it's host and feeds on their blood. They also inject a toxin which is incredibly harmful to dogs and cats. They can also make humans quite sick if they are left for too long. |

Trudi is a very iconic longhair Wei in Aus - very well known to most people who own Wei's.
Her owners put up a tribute to her on their website already and I was just bawling. |

Ange I can't believe it I was only commenting at the October Show how beautiful her "son" Bromhund King Bailey was and now mums gone
We have BAD BAD BAD ticks here on the coast and I have to frontline every 2 weeks and normally we get a bit of a break over winter but this year for some reason they stayed in plague proportions. My daughters little friend was just in hospital for 6 days due to one. NASTY NASTY TICKS |

Mooks: the link worked fine..
I was so stunned when I heard the news as well. I've always admired her and been proud that Ruby shares some of the same blood lineage.
Trudi was the Angelina Jolie of Aussie Wei's.. |

No ticks out here.. too cold for them. I don't even know how far inland ticks come. I think I have heard of them in the bushy Blue Mountains.
Your on the coast aren't you?? Have you had any brush ins with them?
Keep your kids safe from them.. |

WOW that is heartbreaking. Trudi was truly an Icon even to us over here in Canada. We have 2 LH imports from her who have begun the LH trend over here. we are now allowed to show LH in the conformation ring. Our future LH pup will be from her daughter Can Ch. Bromhun Kaliah Greysilk It will mean so much more now and hope she can carry on the legacy of her grand dam.
RIP Trudi from all of us in Canada |
